Mission

Mission

The Erik Brunetti Foundation for the Arts preserves, interprets, and advances the historical record of independent artistic and cultural production through the stewardship of primary-source materials.

The Foundation fulfills this mission through archival preservation, scholarly research, documentation, publications, exhibitions, educational initiatives, and artist-centered programs. These activities strengthen the integrity, accessibility, and long-term continuity of the cultural record.

The Foundation is guided by the principle that responsible stewardship extends beyond the physical preservation of objects. It also requires the preservation of authorship, provenance, process, context, and the relationships through which cultural meaning is created and transmitted.

By supporting research, institutional collaboration, and public access, the Foundation works to ensure that independently produced cultural histories remain available for study, interpretation, and responsible stewardship across generations.
